Infinity offers Competitive Programming in three disciplines:
• WAG (Women's Artistic Gymnastics)
• MAG (Men's Artistic Gymnastics)
• Trampoline and Double-Mini & Tumbling
Within most disciplines teams are divided into streams. With athletes working to achieve mobility within a stream and between streams.
Infinity Programming streams (not all streams are available in all disciplines)
Xcel/Inter-Club – accessible levels of gymnastics, easy-going approach to coaching and corrections. Training focusses on participation, physical fitness, camaraderie and leadership skills. (There is no level limit to invitational programs, however, athletes will not perform or compete skills beyond their abilities and commensurate with the number of hours/weeks training). Competitions are for personal improvement, goals and challenges – however athletes representing Infinity Gymnastics will do so with pride of performance and team spirit. This year Ontario will be
Provincial Compulsory – emphasis on the master of the specific JO Compulsory choreography and techniques and technical requirements – high degree of corrections and attention to detail. All levels must be mastered with a goal of achieving an average of 36.0 before proceeding to the next level and of competing to qualify for Provincial Championships at levels 3-5. These athletes require a high degree of support from family to achieve their goals. Attendance is critical, training times may overlap with school or other family functions. Athletes must keep themselves healthy through excellent nutritional habits and sacrifice other engagements for gymnastics.
Pre and Provincial Optional & Elite – after the JO Compulsory techniques have been mastered it is time to apply to advanced gymnastics skills. Routines composition and choreography are optional. Gymnastics at this level becomes more difficult and therefore riskier. Greater attention is placed on maintaining and increasing physical fitness. Time management, sleep, nutrition and physical therapy are essential. This level of gymnastics can be challenging, emotional but also very rewarding. Athletes train hard however, competition in Ontario and beyond is exceptionally high. Many athletes strive for this level without regard for the sacrifices necessary to excel.
